A TRIBUTE TO BIG GEORGE WEBLEY

BIG GEORGE WAS WITHOUT DOUBT A FRIEND OF THE NIGHT

During the early hours of last Saturday morning, BBC Radio London presenter George Webley, aka Big George, sadly passed away. His 2 am to 6 am radio show is immensely popular and respected amongst us nocturnal folk.  At around 1.45 am this morning, supporters of Big George (myself included) gathered for a vigil outside All Souls Church, Portland Place. It was a harmonious gathering which allowed the shows callers and listeners to meet each other and of course, pay our respects to Big George. A one minute’s silence was held at 2 am, which was followed by the crowd singing Louis Armstrong’s, “ What A Wonderful World” and “He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”. Big George certainly was a jolly good fellow, who will be sadly missed by all…
